Aideen Ní Riada's music is inspired by her journey back to her true self through the highs and lows of life. After spending time living in San Francisco and London, it was a return to her Irish roots that helped Aideen to gain the confidence and maturity to sing her own songs from the heart. Aideen’s new collection of original music and enchanting interpretations of her favourite songs is inspired by the landscapes and people where she finds strength and connection. Themes such as learning to weather the storms of life and love with compassion are unravelled in a lyrical way. Aideen’s music leads us on an evocative journey with pure but purposeful vocals delivered in mystical, cinematic arrangements. Aideen's husband Mike Wolpe records, arranges and produces her music. His skill as a producer has helped Aideen to marry a style of folk-pop that brims with texture and atmosphere. They live in Co Wexford with their sweet dog Sushi, who followed Mike home to Ireland from Los Angeles, California.
“Aideen was wonderful and had poise, suitable hesitancy, and anger, and she sang so expressively.”
Liam Murphy (Theatre Critic)
“An enchanting chanteuse… mixing in her own unique style and charm. A delight!”
Brian Patch (Writer/ Editor)
“Aideen has a refreshing approach. She weaves from a blues to a swing or a Latin standard tune with ease and delivers them in a way that the songs feel as young and fresh as when they were first penned.”
Patrick Molitor (Jazz Pianist)
“Aideen has a really sweet voice, jazz with a soft evocative touch that captures the nostalgia of the old classic love songs.”
